Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Barry Travis, the editor of the Heavy Commercial edition of the Red Book, says: "There is nothing seriously wrong with the Magnum. It's a stupendous truck. Like so many modern top-of-the-range trucks it suffered from a few minor electrical problems at first but they were soon sorted.

"The 480 engine is very torquey and well up to the challenge of 44-tonne operation. The cab is very well specified and may even be a bit too comfortable. The cab suspension is self-levelling but, because the driving position is so high. there's still some sensation of movement. It's the most used items. like the blinds, that can break down and that can be annoying.

"Renault Magnums tend to appeal to a select few. It may be difficult to get a driver out of his truck into one, but once they get used to it few want to change back again. They hold up well in the market place. The Red Book lists a 2001 X-registered Magnum 480 6x2 with mid-lift axle and 300,000km on the clock at £33,000.A similar 4x2 is priced at just £3,000 less. •
