yet again, the pundits are predicting a mild downturn in 2004.
Daf and Iveco sum up popular opinion by talking of an 8-10% decline in the market from 2003. Logically, the bubble will have to burst eventually, but the indicators for the first quarter of 2004 show no signs of pricking that balloon.
Daf reckons there are some small signs of a cooling, but Iveco is talking of a very strong first quarter.
So what will happen next? Nobody knows, is the short answer, but if we were forced to put a figure on it we'd be punting on a total CV market very similar to this year's.
While the economy continues to perform at its current level and there's no signs of any dramatic shifts in consumer spending, then let the good times roll...
