• CV hire company Goode Durrant has closed seven of the 10 depots it took over from Transport Development Group last year.
Goode Durrant bought TDG's rental business in September for £27.3m; now GD finance director Dudley Thompson says only three TDG depots are still open: "It was pointless having two depots in the same place.' Northgate, Goode Durrant's CV hire business, has boosted its fleet by 25% fabout 2,000 vehicles} since the beginning of the financial year. Thompson says hire rates have started to increase by about 1%.
