Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

THE FREIGHT Transport Association's call for frozen haulage rates is "dishonest", Road Haulage Association national chairman Harold Rusett told CM last week.

Mr Russett said he was seething with anger at the FTA warning (CM, January 1) that its members would refuse to meet any increase in rates for 1983, and said that the own-account sector was using the haulier as a "soft touch" in difficult times.

"If the FTA is saying this to all of its suppliers, then we would be living in a very good world," he said.
