Flying 2-tonner : Last week a laden standard Austin 200 forward-control petrol-engined 2-ton lorry completed 69 miles on the London-Birmingham motorway at an average speed of 63.4 m.p.h. and a consumption rate of 9.3 m.p.g. The maximum speed observed was 77 m.p.h.
