Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• As predicted by Commercial Motor last August, Spanish light commercial manufacturer Seat has launched its longawaited diesel Terra van, which is expected to go on sale in the UK before the end of May.

The high-volume Terra, previously only offered with a 903cm3 petrol engine, now comes with the same 1,272cm3 indirect injection Volkswagen diesel engine fitted in the VW Polo. The four-cylinder, transverse-mounted unit develops 33kW (44hp) at 4,900rpm and has a peak torque of 75Nm (55lbft) at 3,00Orpm.

Compression ratio is 22:1. While the petrol-engined Terra van has a four-speed gearbox, the diesel van has a five-speed transmission. The diesel Terra also has a slightly higher gross weight of 1.3 tonnes and a lower payload. Load volume remains the same as the petrol Right: The Terra diesel van uses the same engine as the Volkswagen Polo.

version at 2.4e.

The first diesel Terra van made its debut at the Amsterdam Show (see page 48). Its arrival in the UK will give added impetus to Seat's Terra which have been con'strained without a diesel option, particularly against dieselpowered rivals such as the Fiat Fiorini and Citroen C15.
