Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

N ISSAN has beaten Toyota in the race to offer the First "compact'. panel Van in the UK.

Despite delays, its Vanette has finally arrived just weeks ahead of Toyota's Lite-Ace.

Two versions of the Japanese-designed Vanette, built in Spain by Motor lberica, will be offered. Petrol models, priced at S25.195 plus VAT, have a 50kW (68hp) Nissan A-Series engine with a maximum torque of I I6Nin (86 lbet)..

Diesel Vanettes, offered at 6,495 plus VAT, have the 44kW (59hp) LD20 Nissan engine currently fitted in the Nissan Ebro Trade van (CM. January 18). Peak torque on the indirect-injection LD20 is 120Nm (89 lbft) at 2,600rpm. Both models have five-speed gearboxes as standard.

The Vanette's all-steel forward-Control body provides 4.5m3 (1590 load volume which should attract operators looking for more interior

space than in a car-derived van, but who do not want a full-size panel van. Load platform length is 2,150mm.

Although high and standard-roof versions are sold on the Continent, UK Vanettes will only be available with die standard roof. A sliding sidedoor is standard on all righthand-drive models.

Payload on the petrol Vanate is 910k g, while the slightly heavier kerbweight diesel van has an 895kg maximum load. Steel leaf-spring suspension is fitted all round, with the front springs mounted transversely.
