THE R.C.)A1) Haulage Awssociation wants Employment Secretary Lord Young to reconsider his decision to abolish die redundancy rebate for firms with 10 or more employees.
Hie H HA says that the haulage industry is wholIN dependent on the level of industrial and commercial activity and made up largely of medium and small operators.
This leaves the industry grappling with cash flow problems and fierce competition, it argues.
fli RI-IA has asked for the present level of redundant-N... rebate to be retained or, at the very least, l'Or die abolition to he staged over a number of years to lessen the burden.
