EXTRA PAYLOAD and reduced vehicle excise duty are the direct benefits of Norde's suspension development which converts two-axle rigids into 6 x 2s.
A lifting! trailing axle conversion by Norde Suspensions, similar to one seen on a Bedford TM3800 at last year's Brewery Transport Advisory Committee trials, has been adapted for the He TL1630 4 x 2 chassis.
The converted vehicle is plated at 22 tonnes to take advantage of the 1700 difference
iii VED over 24-tonne (;VW three-axled rigids as %veil as offering 13-tonne payloads. The design uses Norde's asy metric beam rubber tandem suspension which provides a proportional inter-axle load distribution at the rear of ll) tonnes to six tonnes biased towards the drive axle.
Two air bellows raise the Nbrde tubular axle for manoeuvring or lightly laden rU nning.
