NEW 5-tonner Iris been introduced into the.range of vehicles produced by Seddon • Diesel Vehicles, Ltd., Woodstock Factory, Oldham, Lanes. Fitted With a Perkins p6 oil engine and a 12-in.,diameter clutch, , the new model has a four-speed gearbok and hypoid rear axle. Hydraulic brakeS are employed, being power-assisted through a tandem Hydrovae. Tyres-are 7.50 by 20 in. (10-ply).

With a wh abase of 1 1 ft. 61 in., the chassis will accept a body up to 15 ft 9 in. Tong. The recommended body width is 7 ft. Maximum gross vehicle weight is 84 tons, whilst the chassis and 'cab weigh 2 tons 8 cwt.

Tipper and tractor chassis are also available. The basic price of the new model is £1,200, whilst the purchase tax is expected to be approximately £295.
