Geoff Corpe will be responsible for the South of England; Neville Matthews, the West and South Wales; Stephen McDonald, the Midlands; Jack Chadwick, the North; and John Macpherson, Scotland.

Graham Black will handle marketing; Peter Castree, sales; Chris Cullinane, computing; Lawrence Doyle,

physical distribution; David Oliver finance; and John Armstrong will be the company secretary.

Handling oversea markets in Japan is Alex Garden, and John Walker is responsible for Africa.

• DAGENHAM MOTORS GROUP CHECKLEY/PRESTIDGE Kenneth Checkley joins Dagenham Motors Group as finance director and company secretary. He was previously dealer representation manager at Ford Motor Company.

His predecessor, Trevor Prestidge remains a director until his retirement at the end of the year.

• CENTRAL MOTOR AUCTIONS WALKER Andrew Walker, based at Central Motor Auctions Shepshed Centre, near Leicester, has been appointed assistant auctioneering manager at the Midlands branch.

He joined CMA at Shepshed two years ago.

Barry Hinckley becomes managing director at United Counties, also staying on as managing director of Cumberland Motor Services. Stagecoach chairman Brian Souter will concentrate on business development.

Mill Automotive Group names Geoff Martin as sales development manager at the new premises in Leighton Buzzard. He joined MAG this summer and before this was brand manager at Unipart.

• VEEDER-ROOT ARBURY/FOGGIE/LE ROUGETEUSMITH Veeder-Root has promoted Bob Arbury to sales and marketing director at its vehicle products division. Ralph Foggie becomes marketing manager (UK), responsible for distribution. Mark Le Rougetel is service manager, responsible for technical queries and publicity and sales office manager Jim Smith oversees order processing.

• AJS HOLDINGS ROBERTS/HOWELLS/ LUKES/FEARNLEY AJS has appointed a number of key personnel:

Ralph Roberts, who recently retired as chief executive of Greater Manchester Buses, has joined the boards of the West Yorkshire Group, as deputy chairman/senior executive, and London Country Travel Group as non-executive deputy chairman.

Also joining the WY board is Robert Howells, who is chief executive of the London Country Travel Group.

Dennis Lukes has joined the boards of AJS and will be responsible for the WY En

gineering and ABC Parts companies.

Giles Fearnley, until recently group managing director of the WY Group, has joined AJS as group services director, responsible for support services. He has also been appointed non-executive director of the London Country Travel Group.

Joloda has recruited two new members to its sales team. Paul Godfrey joins as sales representative, responsible for the north of England. Previously, he worked in marketing at European Industrial Services. Beverley Tarpey is the new marketing assistant. She has worked at Ogilvy and Mather Direct, London.

Robyn Wheeler has been promoted from depot manager to regional sales manager, South West, at T I Bainbridge Silencers of Preston. Based at Southampton, he is responsible for customer relations and sales of TIMAX products.

• BECK & POLLITZER DISNEUR/ASHBY

Beck & Pollitzer appoints Bernard Disneur as general manager for transport services, South-East, based at Erith. His role includes integrating warehouse and transport activities. He was previously distribution centre manager at Atlas Express and Silcox Express.

Stephen Ashby is the new distribution manager for the Erith centre.
