Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

A SENIOR management reshuffle has been carried out by Renault, the French stateowned vehicle builder which has been fighting heavy losses.

Pierre Sernerena, who has been in charge of Renault Vehicules lndustriels — the commercia I vehicle side of the operation — for the past two years, has transferred to head the troubled car manufacturing operation. He is replaced by Philippe Henri Gras, who moves to a slowly recovering RVI as chairman.

Although Mr Gras joined Renault in 1963 as assistant to the export sales director for cars, he has been concerned with commercial vehicles only since September 1983. It was then that he was appointed RVI director in charge of sales and international operations, having been director of international affairs on the car side.

For most of his career with Renault, Mr Gras has been concerned with export operations for cars, and has held top level positions with Renault con, panies and associates in Chile, Argentina and Columbia.

Herve Guillaume takes over Mr Gras's former position, and the post which he vacates — financial director — is filled by Raoul Chabot.
