Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

One of the aims of this institute is to gain Government recognition for our members, because as the law stands at present, any person who holds either a Class 1, 2, or 3 licence can give instruction on that type of vehicle and receive payment.

Yet that same person giving driving instruction on a class 1, 32-ton-gross weight vehicle is not allowed by law to give light vehicle instruction for payment, or a light vehicle instructor ADI is not allowed to give instruction on a hgv, unless of course he has a hgv licence.

This, we feel, is ridiculous. JIM RICHARDSON.
