TO demonstrate it lighting equipment and fittings to prospective customers in remote areas, Crompton Parkinson, Ltd., Crompton House, Aldvvych, 'London, W.C.2, is employing a mobile showroom. By careful layout. it has been made possible to carry more than 30 different types of fitting. Based on an Austin 5-ton long-wheelbase chassis with a Baico 25-in, extension, the body is 25 ft. long. 7 ft. 6 ins, wide and nearly 12 ft. high. The interior is finished in sycamore and mahogany veneer, the seats and shelving being covered in brown plastic material manufactured at the cable works of the operator. To provide for different voltage supplies a Variac transformer control is installed. This can be connected to any mains supply from 200 to 250 volts ac. to give an output at 230 volts. • In addition to the fittings carried, various types of special lighting, using fluorescent tubes, can be demonstrated.
