Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

We believe we are correct in forecasting the announcement of a decision by the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders that there shall be uo Commercial Motor Show in London next year. It seems to us that it would be a sound scheme to hold it in 1926 and then, if thought advisable, to miss the next wear. The Show would then attenuate with the Public• Works, Roads and Transport Exhibition, which is held in each alternate year.

Studs on Traction-engine Wheels.

The Minister of Transport has, under date of the 8th inst., issued an Order applicable to Scotland, which comes Into force on January 1st next and revokes the Order made in 1917 which permitted the use of studs on tractionengine wheels. A similar Order operated in England during the war, but automatically ceased to have effect on the date of the legal termination of the war.

Much damage has recently been caused by the use of these studs in Scotland, particularly on waterproof surfaces, as the surface once broken through allows water to get underneath and the road rapidly disintegrates. The Minister, however, suggests that local authorities should, by the issue of permits by surveyors in response to individual applications, allow farmers and others to use the studs to facilitate the movement of threshing machines during bad weather conditions, when the roads are, in fact unlikely to suffer damage.

National Omnibus Report.

The report of the National Omnibus and Transport Co., Ltd., for the year ended October 31st last reveals a profit of £54.526, to which must be added a sum of £3,691 brought in from, the previous year. From the total of these amounts the directors have transferred £30.000 to the reserve for depreciation on buildings and rolling stock, whilst a further £10.000 has been carried to the general reserve. A dividend at the rate of 10 per cent. (less tax) is now to be paid, and this will absorb £13,554. The total of these amounts is £53,554. so that £4,663 remains to be carried forward.

During the year the company have purchased the business of Road Motors, Ltd., of Luton, and the Weymouth Motor Co., Ltd., and several smaller concerns, and the services in the areas In which the company's depots are situated have been developed and extended with satisfactory results.
