Logistics company TOG and ainsbury's have hosted the final the Manpower Mirror Driving ompetition on 3 August at cum in Cambridgeshire.

The competition, launched in e Mirror newspaper's recruitent section in April, was aimed : encouraging readers to conder a career in driving as part

a campaign to highlight the lortage of drivers in the dustry.

TOG instructors tested all five lafists on a series of manoeu'es including reversing, gear • anges, braking and a slalom. ley also took a written exercise. The three winners, Julia King, Gordon Dagg and Claire Westoby, each receive TDG training to HGV Class 1licence and the two runners-up, lain Easter and Darren James, will get training to gain an HGV Class 2 licence.

Each finalist will also be offered a job with Manpower on the completion of their licences.

Andrew Blakesley, divisional director of Manpower, says: "The enthusiasm and natural ability of all five finalists was obvious throughout the competition. I wish them all well with their training and every success in their new driving careers."
