• Police want to question the boss of a Chichester firm which offered backloads to Spain and has shut owing hauliers thousands of pounds.
Transport European operated from a travel agency in Chichester which has closed. Director Regis Le Klerk is thought by police to have returned to France, but a Lyon telephone number for the operation has turned out to be a public call box.
Haulier Richard Jeffries of Otley, West Yorkshire says he is owed £14,000.
