• Golden West Foods of Hemel Hempstead, fast-food chain McDonald's' sole distributor, is expanding its fleet with two 13.6m Gray & Adams moveablebulkhead reefer trailers and a 1717 Mercedes rigid with an Atlas/Gray & Adams refrigerated body.
McDonald's partly owned Golden West until 18 months ago, when it was taken over by shareholder Brian McGuire. GW runs 62 tractors and eight rigids and has depots in Hemel Hempstead and Heywood, Lancs.
The 1717, which has been supplied by Mercedes-Benz Car and Truck Centre, West London, will be used for deliveries in the capital where access is tight.
