Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• An order for 3,200 automotive diesel engines worth more than Cl 3m has been placed with the Darlington plant of the Cummins Engine Co. Ltd., by Diesel Nacional (DINA) of Mexico City.

The units ordered are V 6-140 engines designed to produce 140 b.h.p. at 3,300 r.p.m. and will be installed in DINA trucks and buses. Delivery will start in October, the Units being supplied in CKD form for assembly in Mexico using some Mexican content.

DINA trucks and buses have been powered for some years by Darlington-built V6 and V8 diesel engines, and this order—the biggest yet—will bring the number of Mexican vehicles powered by engines from Darlington to over 15,000.

This order for Cummins Darlington factory is the second record breaker to be received in a matter of weeks. The first, announced earlier this month, was for over 1,800 V6 and V8 engines for the Canadian Versatile concern for installation in agricultural tractors.
