delegates representing 110,000 company busmen accepted a new wage agreement which will give increases in basic pay of from lOs to 15s a week; this will mean a basic wage for top drivers of £14 9s 10d (conductors £14 3s 1d}.
Staff with seven years' service or over will have three weeks' holidays with pay and their holiday bonus will be increased by 10s this year. Mr. L. Smith, TGWU officer responsible for the union side in the negotiations, said company busmen now recognize that their claims had been accepted by the employers for meriting equality in basic rates with municipal bus crews.
