Five firms between them have contributed equally to /the grant of £12,000 over three years to Prof. Douglas J. White, Professor of Operational Research, to finance the Fellowship in research into the maintenance of large transport fleets through the application of operational research techniques—the use of scientific methods of analysis in solving problems concerned with the management and direction of large industrial, commercial and other organizations or systems.
