• A new "No Through Road" sign is pro-. posed by the MoT for use on approaches to environmental areas and areas where traffic management schemes are in force.
The sign—a white "closed loop" on a blue rectangular "informatory" base—is intended to discourage through traffic from seeking apparent short cuts which are, in fact, prevented by traffic regulations inside the area. It is thus meant to help both the local resident and the "through" traveller.
