Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

AS forecast in The Commercial Motor on July 25, one-man-operated singledeckers will soon be introduced by Ribble Motor Services, Ltd., on 70 routes in the Garstang, Kendal, Lancaster, Bolton, Clitheroe and Lake District areas. The buses, to be run on Continental lines, will carry an identification symbol— a yellow triangle with the words: "Pay as You enter. Please tender correct fare."

The driver will use an electric ticketissuing and change-giving machine. Oneman buses may later be introduced in Preston and other areas, if a demand for them is apparent. No redundancy in employment is envisaged, because alt Ribble depots in the areas affected are already short of conductors. Use of the vehicles has been agreed upon with the busmen's union.

In Kendal, the services will operate on nine routes, in Clitheroe on 19, and in the Lake District on 15. Garstang will have three one-man bus routes, and the Lancaster area 10.
