• The EC has proved its determination to defend parcels carriers by launching an investigation into alleged illegal practices by the state-owned post offices, including the UK's Royal Mail.
This follows complaints that they have deliberately delayed private carriers engaged in remail activities, which involve the shipping of international mail from large users to another country's post office. EC governments are expected to decide soon on how to liberalise postal markets.
