Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

THE following meetings will be held by IRU in Geneva later this month: April 18, International Technical Commission; April 22/23, Group of Experts on the CMR Convention; April 25, Presidential Executive; April 25, Section II; April 26, Council of Direction; April 28, Study Group on Road Traffic Problems in the Common Market. A major item to be discussed by Section II is the policy of IRU to be followed regarding the developing traffic in containers between North America and Europe.

In general, 1RU is anxious that hauliers should share in this trend and that the growth in container business should not be lost to the railways. To this end, it is likely that TRU will recommend an amendment to the TIR Convention, if necessary, to accommodate containers which are not carried throughout their journey on a road vehicle. Various technical insurance problems concerned with container traffic under TM must also be studied by IRU.

The RHA will be represented at the meetings of Section II and the Council of Direction by Mr. 3. W. Einnis, of Pickfords Ltd., and Mr. R. H. Insoll, executive secretary.
