T'HE possibility of an inland clearance depot A in the Croydon area is being investigated by the Croydon Chamber of Commerce. The subcommittee is undertaking a survey to ascertain the likely demands in the south and south-west of the country for such a project. A questionnaire has been issued and the results are now being examined.
Cumberland Transport Survey: The Northern Economic Planning Council, in conjunction with Cumberland County Council, is organizing a survey of 200 industrial and commercial road transport users in West Cumberland aimed at building up a picture of transport needs for the future. Each firm will be visited this month by a survey team of Government and Council officials to explain the confidential questionnaire which is to be issued.
