rHE South Eastern Licensing L Authority last week rejected the pplication of Mr. B. S. Williams, trmer managing director of Hants and ussex Motor Services, Ltd., for the cences for the Plaistow—Horsham and laist ow—Cranleigh services which ere formerly held by the Hants and ussex group. They were granted to ldershot and District Traction Co., td.
The Ewhurst — Horsham service, hie' is at present operated by the ondon Transport Executive, was the ibject of applications by both Er. Williams and Mr. Brady, of Forest 'men, as well as London Transport. s this service lies mainly in the letropolitan Area. it was decided to ansfer the case for the primary licence that area.
The Midhurst—Petersfield service, ill operated by Mr. Williams, was also moldered, and a revised time-table and [creased fares were authorized. Other mlications, in which Southdown lotor Services, Ltd., proposed to take ver certain Hants and Sussex and isociated routes, were put back for !aring later.
The former headquarters of the Hants id Sussex group at Portsdown Garage, osham. has been sold to Messrs. ighton and Bennett. of Gosport.
IMPROVED SERVICES TO LONDON AIRPORT

The new services will obviate the :ed for air passengers and visitors to le airport to travel into the centre of ondon to board buses operating on mcial services from airline terminals. The new services will run through the )0-yd. tunnel under the runways to le new central airport terminal, which nearly a mile away from the airport 'trance in the Bath Road.
