Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• VL Bus and Coach has announced the names of support dealers so far agreed for 1990 as part of its combined Volvo/Leyland Bus strategy announced last month (CM 31 Aug-6 Sept).

They are: Arlington Motors, London; Carlisle Commercials, Carlisle; Crossroads Commercials, Cleckheaton; Darlington Commercials, Darlington; Dennison Commercials, Ballydare, Northern Ireland; Duffields, Cambridge; James Forbes, Portlethen; Heathrow Commercials, Feltham; Princes Commercials, Southampton; Saltash Trucks, Saltash; and Thomas Hardie Commercials, Queensferry. Still under negotiation are Ailsa Truck, Glasgow; John R. Billows, Kettering; Dawsonfreight, Leighton Buzzard; Eurotruck, Broxburn; Hartshorne, Shrewsbury; Maidstone Commercials, Aylesford; and Manchester Truck & Bus, Kearsley.

These will be in addition to the four support centres at Glasgow, Nottingham, Bristol and Chorley. VL general service manager Peter Hilton says that these can undertake any repair to Leyland Bus and Volvo buses and coaches.

VL managing director Sandy Glennie says the changes do not affect the existing dealer sales franchises.
