• Freighthire (Tank Haulage has secured lucrative contract; following its 225,000 investment to gain the BS5750 standard. It has been able to rene, major contracts with ICI, BP Chemicals, Shell Chemicals an Exxon Chemicals, who all spe. cify the new standard for their contract hauliers.
"We have appointed a fulltime quality assurance manage and a consultant in order to conform to BS5750," says Freighthire managing director Nick Lewis. "But having achieved it we expect to grow at the rate of 15-20% per annum over the next three years."
Freighthire, which has an annual turnover of 22.3 million specialises in the transportatio of bulk liquids and gases. It ha recently purchased additional tractor units from Volvo and ERF as well as specialised gas tank containers from M1 Engineering.
