Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Sweet semi trio

• Three step-framed semitrailers built by Tidd Strongbox for a confectionery manufacturer are making use of normally wasted roof space by having three decks, each fitted with Hydraroll conveyor tracking.

This allows the company to carry an extra 14 pallets over the 40 accommodated by its existing straight-framed trailers.

The 4.83m-high tandemaxled semis use Graaf steellined panels to help keep their weight below the nine-tonne mark. RO-R axles and Flexair suspension are fitted with a lift/lower capability to help the pallets move on the tracking when unloading.

Tidd has further developed its sophisticated Six Pak sixlane double-decker by building its own hydraulic tail lift which is sturdier, reacts faster and has a greater capacity than the model used previously. It is also integral with the rear doors.

There have been improvements to the walkingbeam-type flooring and refrigeration system too. Tidd has shaved around 750kg from the unladen weight, and later versions are expected to be built to a chassisless design, GlassGlover has taken another 25 Tidd Six Pak semitrailers for use on its dedicated distribution service with Littlewoods.
