VALSALL Metropolitan Borough Council opposed an applicaion for a new four-vehicle licence made by Harry Price, trading s Bloxwich Tarfix, of Walsall because it felt that it could lead to ao many vehicles operating from the declared operating centre, he West Midlands Licensing Authority Arthur Crabtree was Ad in Birmingham recently.

Mr Price said that he only eally required a licence for ■ vo vehicles, which would be perated from Shortacre treet, Walsall.

The Council felt that the 3tential maximum number of ehicles that could be perated from the site was ■ ur or five, to make allowance ir the parking of empty skips the site as well.

The situation could be resolved if C. P. Price transferred his vehicle to his original operating centre.

In reply, Harry Price said that Shortacre Metals had gone out of business two years ago. The only vehicles currently operating from the premises were one of his own and two skip vehicles owned by the brother C. P. Price. His brother was only using the premises as a temporary measure.

After Mr Mason had commented that the Shortacre Metals licence was still in existence, Mr Crabtree said that the information given would be followed up. He granted a licence for two vehicles for 12 months only to see how the situation developed.
