• MAN is supplying Russian gas exploration company Gazprom with 200 6x6 chassis. The MeiIlerbodied 36.330DFK tippers will be used for Siberian pipeline construction work, in temperatures as low as 50°C. The deal was brokered by Nissho Iwai Corporation of Japan.
Rising Sunny
• Nissan has increased its CV prices: Sunny, Vanette, Urvan and D21 Pick-Up models go up by 3%; the Sunny van now costs £8,680 (ex-VAT). The Cabstar rises by 3.5% to £9,795 for a chassis-cab or £10,250 for a pickup.
Cost of Bravas
• Vauxhall's Brava range has risen by an average of 4%. The 4x2 petrol model now costs £7,825; the 4x2 diesel is £8,820 and the 4x4 dieseLC11,620.
Trailer brake
• Haldex has launched a diaphragm-spring parking/service brake for trailers, made by TSE in California. The 2430 and 3030 models are interchangeable with existing designs and have a two-year warranty.
Astravan deadlocks
• All 1994 Vauxhall Astravans will be fitted with central deadlocks for improved security; LS models incorporate an alarm/immobiliser system.
