Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

THERE ARE 64 wheels on a Crane Fruehauf Cometto modular trailer which has just gone into service with Leicester Heavy Haulage Ltd.

Capable of carrying loads of up to 172.7 tonnes (170 tons), the trailer is made up of two identical four-axle bogies which can be used independently, coupled back-to-back or even side-by-side. The drawbar of each bogie is detachable for use at either end.

An independent hydraulic suspension system allows the normal deck height of 1.3m (4ft 3in) to be adjusted up and down by 280mm (1 I in).

Raising, lowering and steering is controlled through twin hydraulic control panels powered by diesel donkey engines. This facility also enables the unit to be split steered, the front bogie through the drawbar and the rear through the hydraulic system.

Operating at 30 km/h (19 mph), the trailer can carry a payload of 152.4 tonnes (150 tons), which can be increased to 170 tons when the trailer maintains 12 mph.

Initially, Leicester Heavy Haulage will use the Crane Fruehauf CornettĀ° trailer at its near maximum capability to move electrical alternators from Hawker Siddley's Loughborough works.

Meanwhile, Crane Fruehauf will be exhibiting for the first time in its own right at the Scottish Motor Show.

Previously, the company has had exhibits on the stands of Scottish motor distributors Many aspects of the C1 Group's activities will b represented, including semi trailers, bodies for rigid chas sis, Rentco trailer renta overseas marketing and it parts and service operations.
