A NINE-STRONG team of British professional lorry and ci drivers including June Butler, Britain's top woman lorry dr leaves the UK today, for Switzerland to compete against it( from all over Europe in the International Driving Charm ships.

The British team, drawn from the professional lorry and coach driver ranks of the Continental Freight Drivers' Club, is being sponsored by Leyland Truck and Bus Division.

Teams from about a dozen European countries are expected to take part with Belgium, Denmark, France, Italy, Spain and West Germany likely to put up the strongest opposition.

The competition, an annual event' designed to improve promote road safety anprofessional drivers, is b held, this year, in Lausanr is organised by the U Internationale des Chauff Routiers (UICR), a politil neutral European associa for the professional ,distance driver.
