In 1931 he became a depot manager of Crosville Motor Services, Ltd., and in 1945 he was appointed assistant traffic manager, Eastern National Omnibus Co., Ltd. Three years later he became traffic manager. Brighton Hove and District Omnibus Co., Ltd. He was appointed traffic manager of Wilts and Dorset in 1953, and assistant general manager two years later. Mr. Mills succeeds MR. R. .1.• HOWE, who as reported in The Commercial Motor, of August 26, has, been appointed director and general manager, Lincolnshire Road Car Co., Ltd.

MR. WILLIAM LOCKLEY, for 13 ytars deputy manager of Walsall Transport Department, is to retire next month.

MR, C. F. KENNETT has succeeded MR. J. W. WRIGHTSON, as manager of the Newcastle upon Tyne branch of Shell Mex and B.P., Ltd.

MR. W. G. HALL, traffic manager, Eastern Counties Omnibus Co., Ltd., has been appointed assistant general manager of the company, in addition to his position as traffic manager. Mr. Hall began his transport career with Thomas Tilling, Ltd., in 1918. He was appointed assistant traffic manager, West Yorkshire Road Car Co., Ltd., in 1926 and Eastern Counties traffic manager in 1936.

MR. HAROLD BARNES has been appointed commercial sales manager, Victoria Motor Co. (Bristol), Ltd. For the past nine years he has held a similar post with H. and J. Quick, Ltd., of
