Mactavish had lost his somewhat decrepit van which, unfortunately, had not been insured against theft. A few days later he gleefully informed a friend that he knew where his vehicle was garaged.
"Then why on earth don't you tell the police?" asked the amazed friend. "Oh," said Mac., "I am waiting until the thief replaces my worn-out tyres."
