Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

The benefit to a transport operation of regularly checking and adjusting tyre inflation is well-documented, and previous surveys have highlighted how widespread the practice is. October's survey reveals that 81% are checking tyre pressures at least monthly; indeed, 43% check pressures

once a week.

Who checks tyre pressures? We offered respondents the following options, of which they could highlight all that were relevant: the driver, in-house workshop, truck/trailer service dealer, and tyre service provider. Among smaller operators, the driver is the most likely to do the checking (58%), followed by in-house workshops (41%). This swings significantly among the largest fleets: tyre service providers figure strongly (60%), followed by in-house workshops (42%) and drivers (35%).
