Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

CARRIER TRANSICOLD has added a third model to its range of Vector trailer fridge units, the Vector 1350, aimed at operators that require a smaller cooling capacity.

The two larger models in the range, the Vector 1550 and Vector 1850, are electrically driven, where a diesel engine drives a generator that is used to power the electrically driven compressor and fans.

Carrier has long championed this principle as it eliminates drive-belts used in rival systems with belt-driven compressor and fans.

But the Vector 1350 is a hybrid, with its compressor belt driven from the fridge unit's diesel engine and the three fans for the condenser and evaporators are electrically driven via a generator.

"It's a cost-effective solution for operators that don't need as much cooling power because they are doing single-temperature, full-load deliveries," said Northern Europe MD Justin Grace.
