• Traffic in the north of Paris was brought to a standstill last Thursday by 600 trucks demonstrating against high diesel prices.
Fuel costs in France have risen by more than 11% in the past year and French hauliers, like their British counterparts, are pressing for dispensation for fuel used by professional operators.
