Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• We felt we should write to yourselves regarding the prices of spares. We had occasion to ring Seddon Atkinson at Preston (which acts as a dealer for spare parts) to get the price of rear axle studs and were amazed to find that the price has gone up this year from £3.27 in April to £23.96 in October.

As this is an increase in the region of 700% we feel that it should be made public to other hauliers that they need to check prices before ordering parts. We did a check on a Volvo rear axle and found its price for the wheel studs is E3.48. .1 Chippendale Managing director, J Chippendale (Haulage), Preston, Lancs.
