• Securicor Communications has added a panic button to its mobile phones. In the event of a raid, the driver presses the button and the phone automatically dials the Securicor control room, pinpointing the location of the vehicle to within 100m. Securicor then alerts the police.
The package costs £500, excluding the cost of the phone, and £25 a month for the Securicor control room to monitor the vehicle.
