• Boalloy unveiled a revised version of its intermodal Tautliner at a Railfreight Users Group exhibition last week, The swap body has stronger curtains and cargo rings aimed at improving load restraint. It is a further development of the Tautliner which was launched at the Birmingham Motor Show last year and is in use with German railways and its haulage subcontractors.
Also on show was a six metre coil container made by Mansfield manufacturer WH Davis.
The 2.5m-high container has a track-mounted tilt cover and is capable of carrying up to five steel coils. It is on trial with Swedish railways, but WH Davis says there has also been some interest from UK operators.
The RUG exhibition and conference was designed to give rail-using hauliers a chance to compare current ranges of intermodal equipment.
