PSV International of Charlbury, Oxon, developed the 21tonne Yasoob last year for the Pakistan armed forces (CM 27 June-3 July): 3,000 are being built in Karachi, The Pakistan army is picking its driveline components from a selection of Western-built options, including Cummins and Caterpillar engines, and Eaton and ZF gearboxes.

PSV International is developing civilian versions of the 4x2 and 6x4 truck, probably in forward-control design and "a bit more sophisticated" than the military model. It hopes that they will be popular with customers in the developing world; they could go into production by the middle of next year.
