• Adamson Modular Systems of Stockport and Archer Engineering (Leeds) are intent on entering the UK's intermodal swap body market. .
Adamson, formerly part of the Tiphook group, is a supplier to German railway company Transfracht. Its 7.15m bodies are made from 1.2mm mild steel and tare out at 2,885kg.
Railfreight Distribution has taken 10 of its side-access swaps for appraisal.
Archer Engineering's range of intermodals includes steel box, curtainsided and tilt types and are made in 7.15, 7.45 and 7.82m lengths.
