Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

ERE have been some press -nments regarding an Jerimental fitment of a eder-Root electronic ;hograph in a press monstrator vehicle where the :hograph showed an ermittent speed error. Ne have had an opportunity examining the vehicle ncerned and we have been le to clear the fault. The tachograph

croprocessor was being affected by electrical noise associated with operation of the two-speed axle on the vehicle.

After checking the circuit components, including a defective switch on the axle, and improving the earth connection to the two-speed axle tachograph relay, the problem was virtually eliminated.

In order to give additional protection, a minor change was made to the microprocessor connections to increase the filtering of extraneous noise and this change will be incorporated in all production tachographs. G. T. WALKER Marketing services manager Vehicle Products Division Veeder-Root
