Albert Wheway has been made a non-executive director of ERF (Holdings) Ltd. A former merchant banker, Mr Sheway is a director of a number of companies, including several London insurance firms.
Pandoro Ltd has promoted Hugh Walshto senior executive (Republic of Ireland). Mr Walsh joined the company in October. He was previously director and general manager with Camac Transport Co of Dublin.
Paul Insley has been appointed managing director of Whitwill Cole and Co Ltd Group. Based in London, Mr Insley will continue as managing director of the Tor Line Ltd Group.
The British Consul-General in Paris has made Gerard Caron, manager of Townsend Thoresen in Cherbourg, an honorary British Consul at the French port. Mr Caron has been in charge of the ferry company's services from Cherbourg to Portsmouth and Southampton for the past two years. The British Consulate will now be re-opened after a break of two and a half years.
Pat Rice has been promoted to general sales manager of Fram Europe Ltd. He joined Fram in 1976 as regional manager for the North of England with responsi
bility for Fram's depots in Leeds and St Helens. Mr Rice has been in the industry for 16 years and was formerly employed by Ford, Leyland and Chrysler. Mel Morris has joined the company as fleet sales manager with special responsibility for organising service on a regional and national basis. He was formerly employed as marketing executive with British Road Services of Bedfordshire. .
Mark Ridle has been taken on as retail sales manager with Fram. He was previously a manager for Asda stores non-food business and used to work for the Prestige Group sales force.
Still Materials Handling Ltd of Bilston has taken on Bob Bedford to represent the company in South Wales.
