Viscount Lowther, the 27-yearold son of the Earl of Lonstiale, takes his pleasure in a strange way. A former odd-job man and general labourer, he is now taking an hgv driving course. According to our man in Carlisle, the Viscount lives close to his father's home at Askham Hall, near Pertrith, which is one of the biggest privately-owned estates in the country. I am all for people doing their own thing, but I think if dad hed been an Earl I would not be odd-jobbing, labouring, driving heavy goods Vehicles or, for that matter, writing this page. There must be quieter ways of making a living.
