• A fleet of double-deck Neoplan Scenicruiser 80-seat coaches is to be introduced by Southbound Tours Ltd, of London, to carry British tourists to 24 different countries in 1970. The first of these giant three-axle coaches to operate on British roads landed at Dover this week, en route to the annual conference of the Association of British Travel Agents in Torquay.
The coaches, examples of which already operate on the European mainland, are built by Gottlob Auwarter KG, of Stuttgart, West Germany. They will be fitted with reclining seats of the latest type, and features include aircraft type ventilation, air suspension, and a 200 bhp engine mounted at the rear.
