• Despite some teething troubles Edinburgh Corporation Transport has achieved substantial success from its introduction of o-m-odouble-deck buses on a number of city routes at the beginning of this autumn. The driver-operators are reported to have adopted the routines effectively and willingly, and meetings between management and busmen discussed further moves last week.
These could include the introduction of season tickets on a preferential rate basis, buying of tickets before boarding the bus to speed up operations, and standardization of fares to reduce change giving. Discussions will also be held on the introduction of the second phase of the programme which is scheduled for early 1970.
