Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• A junior management course, aimed at recruiting and encouraging school leavers, has been instituted by the Manchester Transport Training Group, Mr. Jack Wood, Group training officer, told CM this week that a number of the companies associated with the Group are enlisting beginners and training them at the moment. The Group has made contact with grammar schools, through the careers departments. and with the secondary modern schools in Manchester, through Mr. Allan MacFarlane, Road Safety Officer. As a result school leavers are to visit the MTTG centre at Failsworth to study career opportunities in transport and safety work. Those enrolled in the junior management course will attend one day a week for a period of two years.

Over 100 drivers have now completed training courses at Failsworth and the Group is co-operating, as reported in CM October 10, in a senior management course. Studies for supervisory grades are now in the process of organization. Mr. Wood is at present working on a recruitment formula for the Group based on introducing younger drivers to the field of heavy goods vehicle operation.
